Demonstration in central Jönköping Saturday 12 April, 1 000 people marching.
Happy to be a part of this important march the past weekend.
An amazing BBC documentary from 2007 by Phil Heyes on Swedish television! You can find more on YouTube!
Svanängen and Stålhberg.
A week ago I was at an amazing concert with Emil Svanängen, aka Loney Dear. Together with him on stage was Malin Ståhlberg, Junekvintetten, John Bauers Brass and Mats Olsson. The concert hall was packed with an enthusiastic crowd.
This concert was a part of a tour within Jönköping County called “Svanängen on Tour”.
I was in such a hurry for the concert that I forgot to bring my “big” DSLR camera. Kind of funny, but thank God, my small camera was in my pocket!
On this video they are playing a new tune, filmed with small camera.
At the moment there is a lovely art exhibition of Swedish contemporary art, The Gannevik Collection, at The County museum.
Linda Pettersson, Krister Jonsson.
At the end of August I went some 100 km south of Jönköping, to attend a a concert at Lekaryd Church, outside Alvesta. Linda Pettersson, an amazing jazz singer and artist, together with fantastic guitarist Krister Jonsson were performing. This was one of the better concerts I ever been to!
I wish more people would discover this brilliant music! Please check out the amazing album Remembering (at Spotify).
This summer season I have been walking quite a lot! A couple of times I visited the lovely island Visingsö. I love the landscape on this island!
Flower in the meadow.
I continue my good summer habit to walk longer distance in the nature. It’s an interesting way of getting to know beautiful and interesting places in the nearby region and at the same time getting a good workout!
This time I was walking the Erikgatuleden and later in Nyckelås Nature reserve.
The Stråken trail.
A couple of weeks ago I walked the Stråken trail, around the lake Stråken, in the Mullsjö area. At half distance I sat on a stone by the lake shore, having greek salad, some bread and later coffee. An interesting mix of Greek food culture and the lovely Swedish nature at it’s best!
As a title for this amazing photo festival I like to put the classic Swedish proverb: “Do not cross the stream for water”.
Since a couple of years there is a new fantastic photo museum in Stockholm, Fotografiska, where a lot of amazing photographers work have been exhibited. But I would like to add: since a couple of years there exist an amazing photo festival in Mullsjö, the Nordic capital of photo! So for a person like me, who lives 30 minutes by car from Mullsjö, I do not need to travel all the way to Stockholm to view world class photo! At least not in the beginning of June!
Another meaning of the above proverb is that there exist some amazing photographers in the neighborhood! For example Örjan Henriksson, Mullsjö. His exhibition show interesting photos of residents from Mullsjö, people that for some reason has caught his interest! So for this exhibition he did not walk far for the motives!
After passing the curve in Panathinaikon Stadium a tunnel come visible, which look exciting and mysterious. At the end of the tunnel you reach several rooms, possible a building, probably called House of Athletics. In one room there are the official poster for each Olympic Games since 1896 and forward. Also the used torch on each games can be found there. Beside being museum there are changing rooms for the athletics.
