Linda Pettersson, Krister Jonsson.
At the end of August I went some 100 km south of Jönköping, to attend a a concert at Lekaryd Church, outside Alvesta. Linda Pettersson, an amazing jazz singer and artist, together with fantastic guitarist Krister Jonsson were performing. This was one of the better concerts I ever been to!
I wish more people would discover this brilliant music! Please check out the amazing album Remembering (at Spotify).
As a title for this amazing photo festival I like to put the classic Swedish proverb: “Do not cross the stream for water”.
Since a couple of years there is a new fantastic photo museum in Stockholm, Fotografiska, where a lot of amazing photographers work have been exhibited. But I would like to add: since a couple of years there exist an amazing photo festival in Mullsjö, the Nordic capital of photo! So for a person like me, who lives 30 minutes by car from Mullsjö, I do not need to travel all the way to Stockholm to view world class photo! At least not in the beginning of June!
Another meaning of the above proverb is that there exist some amazing photographers in the neighborhood! For example Örjan Henriksson, Mullsjö. His exhibition show interesting photos of residents from Mullsjö, people that for some reason has caught his interest! So for this exhibition he did not walk far for the motives!
People beneath Acropolis.
After 5-6 hours on Blue Star Paros, I arrived to Piraues, went with metro to Monastiraki and then finally Syntagma station. After some 10 minutes walk I found my hotel on Apolonos street. Later during afternoon and evening I walked in Plaka and south of Acropolis hill.
When you arrive to this little village in the north of Naxos during summer time, the taverns by the harbour is packed with people. Some of the arrives with bus, doing a tour around the island.
When arrived 13 of April, I started to hesitate if any of the taverns was open. No one of them seem to be ready for guests. Anyway, the last one in the bay was open, Captain Michalis café, and I could have a lovely Greek salad, looking at the calm water of the small harbour.
Greek salad, Yiannis Tavern, Chalki, Naxos
Suddenly I went to Greece, in the beginning of April. OK, I decide a couple of weeks ahead, wondering when Spring would arrive to Sweden. On Naxos I have a habit of visiting Chalki village on my first ride on my rented scooter. Why change a winning concept? Chalki is a calm place and recent years quite charming , the salad at Yiannies is lovely, and I am hungry after my first ride!
Today mother was morning tired. Not very talkative.
My love, at least two of them. This photo was taken with a small advanced compact camera Canon PowerShot S110, transferred via WiFi to my mobile phone Sony Xperia acro S, edited on my phone with Snapseed, and then uploaded to my blog. Kind of neat, don’t you think?
My mother was in good mood yesterday, and as a result she often sing the old classic sacred songs.
Mellan två världar / Between two worlds – 2011.
I made a little Advent travel today with local bus and train to visit Vandalorum in order to watch a couple of interesting exhibitions. The main reason was the exhibit of Janeric Johansson‘s art. Två years ago I saw his art in my home-town, and the style and interesting thoughts behind his art fascinates me. I suggest you have a look at his website!
Christina Gustafsson and Mathias Algotsson Trio are doing a series of concerts in my area of Sweden, and today they were in Huskvarna. It was a fantastic concert and the crowd loved it!
