Second day with my scooter and remembering the shivering at Glifada beach I went straight to Mikri Vigla beach after breakfast. After an hour or so on this tranquil beach, it was time for some lunch. I drove all the way to Aphirantos village. It was very calm, with more or less no restaurants and coffee shops open at this time of the year. Moreover it was pretty cold, because it was cloudy up here! Anyway, I had a couple of souvlaki’s in a tavern seemed to be closed, but there where a guy behind the desk.
I did some walking in the village and some school kids had some fun conversing with me in English. Guess they wanted to practice their skills.

Now it was time to look at some more attractions on Naxos, so I went down to Chalki, turned right towards Moni. Suddenly I saw a sign indicating an old Byzantine church by the road. For some reason I have missed that on my previous visits to Naxos. What I liked with the church was the calm and beautiful suroundings, with olive trees, lovely daisies and also some goats. I have a cool “mobile” photo from this very place, explaining what I try to say: Daisies. Yet another one of the church.

From Glifada beach I went home to Sofi Pension. Later on my way out , I got “stuck” at the reception, for a nice talk with the lovely hosts of this pension! So I was little late when I walked to the sea shore and Chora. So quickly I mounted my tripod a took a few photos from north towards Portara – Apollo Temple. Love the result! After these few shots, it was to late to take more photos in Chora, but I had more opportunities later in the week!

Vittsjö

Lake Vittsjö.

I have now been working for a week after my four weeks of vacation during August! This photo was taken two weeks ago a lovely late afternoon, at the little village Vittsjö in the southern part of Sweden. The surroundings are very beautiful and suitable for trekking!

Hohlidia beach.

Det är avkopplande att titta ut över vattnet på en plats med behaglig temperatur, och med vetskapen att i morgon har jag “inget inbokat”. Det är speciellt att få uppleva dessa stunder någon gång emellanåt!

It is relaxing to look out on the sea in a place with pleasant temperatures, and with the knowledge that tomorrow I have “nothing booked.” It is special to experience those moments once in a while!

Stockholm centre

Segels Torg.

Min semester har börjat med helg i Stockholm, framför allt för att möta mina gäster, som kommer om 10 timmar, om allt fungerar som tänkt. Fick en trevlig eftermiddag och kväll, där jag, som av en händelse, träffade vänner från Jönköping. Härligt att fika vid Norrmalmstorg en ljummen sommarkväll, för att sedan strosa vidare mot Kungsträdgården och Pride.

Summer vacation this weekend in Stockholm, a lovely summer evening.

Idag har det varit, om möjligt, ännu varmare i Riga! Så vi tog oss, via ett par lokala bussar och promenad, ut till en liten badplats vid Juglasjön och mötte upp med några vänner. Skönaste positionen under eftermiddagen var i vattnet!

Did spend most of the afternoon in the water at the Juglas Lake.

Riga

Sedan någon dag befinner jag min i Riga, Lettland, där jag besöker en vän. Vädret visar sig från sin bästa sida med strålande sol och väldigt varmt. Då ska man inte befinna sig i stan, utan förflytta sig till någon lämplig strand vid kusten, eller någon sjö. Men idag har det blivit stadsliv med besök hos min väns syster, och senare under dagen var vi gäster på ett barnkalas. En trevlig varm dag med mycket barn, liv och rörelse!
